A note of thanks from April as a result of our Giving Trees project this past September:

I got a box. The first one I've gotten from any of my supporters, much less a supporting church. Hangers. Towels. Really simple. No gold, frankincense or myrrh. Just cardboard wrapped around every-day living things. And oh! How I've enjoyed it. I unpacked it and then repacked it. Then pulled out one thing at a time putting it where it should go. The closet, the drawer, the cabinet. And as I mixed the cookie dough you sent, I thought, "This is my favorite thing from the box." But then when I used the soft brown towel I thought, "This is my favorite thing from the box." And then when I read through a magazine from cover to cover I thought, "This is my favorite thing from the box." Eventually I decided I needed to get the empty box out of my entryway and when I took it outside, I found a little envelope. With a drawing from Emma Faber. A four-year-old. Who prays for me. And defiantly - above all else, This IS my favorite thing from the box. Oh, to know the love of a child that came in a simple box. Makes me think of another Child.

Thank you, Crossroads, for the gift box... and the gifts of your love and mostly for the gifts of your prayers.

Blessings...
April
PS. Hug that Emma Faber for me and kiss her cheeks.
